When would I need ready-made eyelet curtains?
Eyelet curtains are incredibly popular because they are the easiest to hang in your home. The "eyelet" is the circular hole cut into the curtain, letting you slide curtains on the pole. They're much more common in homes now, compared to the more traditional pleat curtains that require rings to hang up.
If you already own eyelet curtains but don't have thermal or light protection, our 3 Pass Thermal Lining has you covered.
What do I need to measure when buying eyelet curtains?
It can be a little daunting if you don't know where to start, but it's easier than you think to measure eyelet curtains. You'll just need to check two main measurements - your curtain drop & width. Your curtain drop for eyelet curtains means you measure from the pole down. People will tend to measure so that their eyelet curtains either meet the bottom of the sill, just above the radiator/ skirting – where you want the curtain to hang . We recommend adding 2-3cm to this measurement, as most eyelet curtains tend to have a little bit of fabric above the eye.
For your curtain width, you want to measure the length of our curtain pole and give 15-20cm extra on either side to play it safe. When you want eyelet curtains that have that wavy look (known as full gather), you'll want to go for wider curtains. Aim closer to your measurement for a relaxed look where the curtain is a little tauter.
