JOB DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION: Clerical Officer – Stock Department (Placement)

 

REPORTING TO: Stock Manager

 

LOCATION: Head Office, Dunmurry

 

NORMAL HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 Hours per week (Mon-Sat) Due to the nature of this position flexibility is required

 

MAIN DUTIES:             To maintain and support an effective and efficient service to our stores and Head Office departments, ensuring a high level of quality, service and professionalism at all

times. To assist with the processing, packing and dispatch of stock for online orders and inter-store transfers.

 

 

KEY TASKS AND DUTIES

 

A successful candidate should be able to:

 

Provide administrative support in the Stock department to our stores and other Head Office departments.

 

Deal with enquiries via telephone and email from our customers, stores and other Head Office departments.

 

Processing online orders. This is an active role which includes daily work within our Warehouse; picking and packing stock for online orders and inter-store transfers.

 

Data input; update information and other records as necessary on computer system in line with data protection guidelines.

 

Produce and analyse reports.

 

Maintain the Company’s You Are the Difference customer service experience, therefore maximising the sales potential of the Company.

 

General office duties including; filing, maintaining record systems, message taking, dealing with correspondence and queries, efficient and proper use of photocopier and fax machine and maintaining a clean and tidy office.

 

Any other reasonable duties requested by management.

 

Measures of Performance

The effectiveness of administration and stock procedures, including maintenance of the Company’s record systems and processing of online orders and inter-store transfers.

The effectiveness of communication with the Stock Manager, stores, customers and other Head Office departments.

The effectiveness of support provided to customers, stores and Head Office departments.

 

PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION

 

ESSENTIAL

 

Relevant Experience:             

Experience and up to date knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft Word and Excel

Experience of dealing with the general public

 

Special Aptitudes:

A passion for home interiors

Maintains confidentiality

Uses own initiative
