Relax! Let Harry Show you how to make your friends green with envy...

Like Marmite, green is one of those colours that people love or hate, usually for the same reasons. It is a strong colour, but if you know how to work it, you can create rooms that are warm and inviting, bright and modern, cosy and comforting.
Here at Harry Corry, we think green is vastly underrated – it just needs a light touch to make it work in any room. And as emerald green is the colour of 2013, designated by the colour professionals at the Pantone Institute, we think it’s about time we all had a splash of green in our lives.
The perfect colour for bringing the outdoors in, green is all about nature and relaxed energy, making any room feel calming and restful. That makes it particularly useful in the bedroom, and even more if you have a restless child! For children’s rooms they’ll love and that will help them nod off, avoid the temptation of sparkly pinks for the girls and vivid blues for the boys and go for greens! If you really can’t resist the pinks and blues, find a shade of green that works with them to add interesting accents – we’re thinking navy and lime or magenta and forest green.
This Mustique Lime duvet cover is the perfect solution for teens – who we all know find it hard to wind down! And it’s still bright enough to make a funky impact.
You’ll find lots of greens in hospitals, medical offices and spas, where in its low key, muted form it creates a calming effect. You can create a similar but even more therapeutic effect at home, starting with apple white walls and adding accents to build colour. These green ready-made curtains won’t overwhelm but will add a touch of sophistication in the living or bedroom, while these Panache curtains are much fresher - perfect for spring!
If you’re looking to make your bedroom more of a haven: think forest! Clean greens and warm browns in a variety of tones are warm and welcoming and add interest: you’ll love snuggling down in your Abbey Chocolate Green bed in a bag - a ready-made focal point for any bedroom. Add this Flower Green to create a contemporary look and light the room softly with this Abaca green shade.
If you’ve got a blank canvas and want to create a bedroom that’s fresh yet sophisticated and very inviting, add to neutral tones with hints of greens that are cool and confident: This Villa Stripe duvet cover is perfect with taupes and greys, leaving you lots of opportunities to continually add to, update and reinvent the look – like throwing some of these Sardinia and Estrada cushion covers into the mix to add texture and contrast while strengthening your colour scheme.
It is possible that with all this gorgeous green, you may find yourself becoming too complacent or laid back! If you need to pep things up a bit, inject some lipstick red or burnt orange to add contrast...
