Here at Harry Corry's we have a fantastic range of wallpaper, carefully selected and priced to suit every room and budget.  Our wallpaper is fashionable, durable and easy to hang. It provides instant colour and design, can cover any imperfections on the wall and it is a very effective way to change the personality of a room.

In this Customer Wallpaper Guide we will look at the:

  1. Range of designs we carry.

We will explain:

  1. The types of wallpaper we carry
  2. Pattern matching
  3. Free Samples
  4. Information for customers
  5. How to measure and calculate rolls

A. Range of designs

We stock a wide range of wallpaper designs to suit all rooms and to help with all of your interior design needs.

  • Light colours

Will open up a room, creating a feeling of more space.

  • Striped wallpaper

Will add height to a room by taking the eye upwards, making it look taller. Striped wallpaper can also be hung horizontal for an alternative effect.

  • Floral design wallpaper

Creates a modern or traditional look and include some of our most popular styles

  • Geometric wallpaper

Can be used to make a feature wall/focal point or highlight a particular style.

  • Textured wallpaper

Can change the effect of light on the walls and also gives the walls a different physical appearance.

  • Novelty wallpaper

For something that little bit different/quirky.  Perfect for feature walls.

  • Brands we stock include: Graham & Brown, Belgravia, Art House, Muriva, Fine Decor

B. Types of wallpaper:

  1. Expanded/Blown Vinyl
  2. Textured Vinyl
  3. Paste the Wall
  4. Plain Paper Range

(1) Expanded/Blown Vinyl

This is paper, which has a raised design or ‘3D’ effect. The decorative surface is PVC, which has been printed and heated.

Suitable for: most rooms with the exception of wet rooms (Kitchens, Bathrooms, and En-suites)

Benefits:

Good for hiding discrepancies/uneven surfaces

Easy to remove – You can peel it off

Washable

Current examples:

Anastasia (Belgravia), Arran stone (Graham & Brown) and Anouska (Art House)

(2) Textured Vinyl (Embossed)

The printing process is similar to expanded vinyl but it goes through an emboss process.

Suitable for: most rooms including kitchens and bathrooms, as the product is more resistant to grease and moisture than plain wallpaper but it cannot be papered over.

Benefits:

It is Washable

You can peel it off

Covers minor imperfections in walls

Very durable (i.e. kids areas)

Examples:

Juliet (Graham & Brown), Milano – Fine décor Discontinuing but still plenty of stock – “Get it or regret it/Miss it, miss out!!!!”

(3) Paste the Wall

This range has a mixture of hard and soft to the touch plastisols which give the customer 3 main benefits:

Easy to use – paste the wall (hangs straight from roll)

Easy to choose – all colourings co-ordinate

Easy to remove – peels off easily when you fancy a change

Suitable for: most rooms

Other benefits:

Covers uneven surfaces easily making minor imperfections invisible

Breathable – doesn’t stretch and contract

Takes about 1/3 of the time compared to papering with other wallpaper

Examples:

Romance, Majestic and Milano

(4) Plain Paper Range – Muriva, Arthouse, Graham & Brown

Benefits:

Design led,

Great price points

Examples:

Daisy and Cityscapes

C) Understanding Wallpaper – Pattern Matches

On wallpaper with a design, there is more than likely going to be a pattern match or a pattern repeat.  This pattern repeat is an integral part of the design.

  • A Random Match is one in which the pattern matches no matter how adjoining strips are positioned. E.g. Stripes and plains
  • A Straight-Across Match is one in which the design elements match on adjoining strips. Geometric designs, eg. Geowave 701305.
  • Drop match is the distance between the repeat of each pattern. This can vary between designs for example: Juliet. The longer the pattern repeat, the more paper you will need.

D) Samples

Here at Harry Corry’s we encourage customers to take home samples of wallpaper, as wallpaper can look different in different light and surroundings (i.e. room size & shapes). So be sure to ask for them in-store.  This possibly saves you a journey or may give you/your friends/family ideas for other rooms.  Sample sizes are approximately a ruler and a half in length.  You can request free samples here by sending an email stating -the details of the samples you would like, your name and address to stock@harrycorry.com

E) Important information

  • -Price promise – We should be the best price around
  • -Unopened rolls can be returned.
  • -You must read the instructions and check each roll for any blemishes before putting it up on the wall. Follow all of the instructions on the label before putting up.
  • -Shades vary from batch to batch, therefore the batch number of each wallpaper roll must match exactly. The batch number is clearly marked on the label.
  • -It is better to buy extra at the time of purchasing to ensure batch numbers match, as it may be difficult to locate an identical batch number at a later date.  This would be especially applicable for hall/Stairs/landing areas and when there is pattern matching required.
  • A rule of thumb would be - 4 strips to the roll for plain paper and 3 for patterned – due to matching rolls side by side.
  • -Refunds against incorrect applications unfortunately will not be given.
  • -Remember to buy your wallpaper paste here too!
  • -You can buy online or buy and reserve for in-store collection

G) Measuring and Calculating Rolls

We require exact measurements. Make sure you work out what you need, especially for hall/stairs/landing areas with lots of pattern matching required.

•You can calculate the number of rolls required by:

o Measuring from the ceiling to top of the skirting board.

o Measuring the width around the room

o Use the two measurements you now have, refer to the table below (or for a more defined table layout click on the link at the top of this guide and refer to the measurement chart that will appear).

•Unfortunately we cannot work out pattern matches, however unopened rolls may be returned.
